DCA Member Steve Parke has written a comprehensive guide to taking better photos which you will find on our Photo Competition page. Of course any photo being submitted to the competition must promote and celebrate some aspect of dinghy cruising but have you thought about its emotional impact, its originality, its technical quality and whether it tells a story? Steve will tell you all about this and provide you with more tips than you will be able to remember! Go to: Photo Competition to download the article.
![]() The second edition of Roger Barnes' book has just been published. It is beautifully produced, contains new material and obviously should be on every dinghy cruiser's bookshelf! As it says on the back " A sailing dinghy is the perfect way to experience nature and new coastlines at close quarters and low cost. Sailing where larger boats cannot reach and sleeping under canvas aboard or ashore, this is boating taken right back to the basics, and all the better for that." The practical advice in the book is interwoven with beautiful illustrations and stories of Roger's adventures afloat.
The recording of Michael Storer's talk at the 2022 AGM has now been uploaded to YouTube and embedded in the website. So you can listen again or listen for the first time if you were unable to join us on the day. Click here to go to the web page.
After much consultation with relevant DCA Members it is a pleasure to announce that , subject to ratification at the AGM, there will be Regional Secretaries for the North of Scotland, South of Scotland, South Wales, Ireland and North America. The Association is looking forward to seeing rally programmes evolving in these areas , thus providing the opportunity for more of our members to meet up with others , talk about boats and sail in company. Exciting times ahead!
