North East Rally Programme

North East Region's rally programme for 2022

Please check the Forum's North East Section for updates and further details.
May 11-15     Border Reivers Rally

Launch    at Kielder Water Sailing Club on Wednesday 11th May. We will explore Kielder Water for two days. For directions on how to find the Club click here.

The Club has limited camping facilities and kindly allows those camping there the use of the galley, toilet and shower facilities. Non-members will be charged £10 for the two days. For those wishing to use an electric hookup, Bellingham Camping and Caravanning Club site is just 10 miles away. Kielder Campsite is another possibility and is only 8.5 miles away.

On Friday 13th May we will transfer to Loch Lomond in Scotland to sail there over the weekend. Recommended campsites are at Sallochy, Cashel and Milarrochy. There is a public launching slip at Balloch. Boats carrying outboard motors must be registered with    Loch Lomond & the Trossachs  National Park.

Organiser: Bill Haylock (Contact details in Journal.)

July 22-24  Holy Island Rally                   CANCELLED
Unfortunately, although we hoped to hold a Holy Island rally on this weekend,  Simon is unable to be there. It is a tricky venue and only suitable for experienced sailors, so we have decided to cancel the event unless someone with good local knowledge of the area comes forward.

"The Lindisfarne Loop"  written by Colin Firth in 2001 is worth reading to get an idea of the challenges in this location.

This  is a video of a previous rally to   Holy Island, Lindisfarne.
