New DCA Competitions for Best Photo, Video and Artwork
The DCA has for many years had two key awards for written articles published in the Journal, the Naylor Noggin and the Peter Bick Cup. This year we have decided to introduce a competition for visual material. We know members are taking some excellent photos and producing high quality videos, paintings and sketches and we’d like to provide a platform to share the best of them and in so doing, help celebrate and promote dinghy cruising to the world.
There will be 3 competitions: 1. Photography There are 3 categories within the photography competition:
Cruising - The things which mark a boat out as a dinghy that cruises.
Amusing - Make us smile
Inspiring - The wow factor
2. Video There are 2 categories within the video competition:
General - Anything from an inspiring beauty shot of dolphins at the bow to technical ‘how to’ and narrative cruising logs. Max 30 minutes.
Videos of DCA rallies, made intentionally for the DCA YouTube channel, Max 15 minutes
3. Artwork - From pen/pencil sketches and watercolours to graphic art on your dinghy this is a wide ranging category.
