How Dinghy Cruiser are You?

Q1. Have you done anything like this before?

A.   I once sailed a Wayfarer to Iceland
B.    I’ve done some kayaking/ wild swimming/ cycling/ hill walking
C.    Life is difficult enough already, why pick a challenging hobby?

Q2. You are sailing in convoy with another family when you notice    they’ve run aground on a large drying sandbank. Do you shout:

 A.  “Great idea! The tide won’t be back for a couple of hours. We’ve got a tennis ball   and can use our tiller for a
           rounders bat”
B.  “Quick! Everybody over the side and push her back into the channel. That was   exciting!”
C.  “Stay where you are. I’m calling the Coastguard”

Q3. Where do you fancy sleeping?

A.    In a bivvy bag on the deckboards. We carry a boom crutch and a tarp for a basic   ridge tent if it looks like rain
B.    On dry land, either in a tent or ideally a waterside pub b&b
C.     Not fussed, as long as it’s en suite with TV, room service and a trouserpress

Q4. You have a choice of 3 films to watch

 A.    Swallows and Amazons
B.    Kevin Costner’s Waterworld
C.    Breakfast at Tiffany's

Q5. When you gotta go…?

A.    Bucket and chuck it
B.    Good excuse to beach the boat and visit that pub
C.    The on board toilet (must check that leaky gasket)

Q6. Which do you prefer to listen to at night?

 A.    Animal calls and the splashes of night feeding creatures sounding surprisingly close
B.    Whale sounds on Spotify
C.    The tap tap tap of dozens of halyards on masts

How did you score?

Mostly A.
Wowza! You are already a hardcore dinghy cruiser. Much respect. Please can you write up your adventures in the DCA Journal to inspire others.

Mostly B.     OMG! You are a natural born dinghy cruiser (whether you know it or not) and we need to help you release your inner passions. Please visit the website or come to the chat room, take a seat, our tattooist will be with you shortly.

Mostly C.    Sorry but you may have wandered onto the wrong stand. Oh, the bathrooms? Yes they’re at the end of aisle D.
