April 23-24    Cardiff Bay
Launch Cardiff Bay Yacht Club,   Cardiff Yacht Club  or   Channel View which is opposite Cardiff YC on the River Taff.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore   two
rivers - the River Ely, with some bridges to navigate, though accessible by most dinghies and the River Taff, which though shallow with a very low bridge, does have a wetlands nature reserve and runs alongside the picturesque Bute Park.
For a city adventure there is a visitors pontoon at Mermaid Quay with access to numerous restaurants, bars and cafes as well as the Millennium Centre, Norwegian Church (café & art centre), the skate park on the Barrage itself etc.    For the more adventurous it's HW 12:36 H: 9.78m and could allow those with an engine access to the Bristol Channel. You could explore Penarth Pier or go towards the Rhymney River and 'Splott Beach' with the incoming tide, and return through the barrage lock on the turning tide.   Overnight options: Cardiff Bay Yacht Club or Mermaid Quay.
Organiser: Carmel Royston
8 -12 July    River  Cleddau
The base for this rally will be the Pembrokeshire  Activity Centre, Llanion Cove.    The dates have been chosen to allow for good water height throughout the day, allowing upriver and downriver options and also to provide the right height for visits to the creeks and interesting destinations upriver on the larger tides as we go through the weekend and into the week. Full  details of tide times each day and other helpful information can be found in the Forum.   The Activity Centre provides:
  • Free slipway launching and retrieval at all states of the tide
  • Free car parking
  • Trailer storage on site if required
  • Accommodation on site in various properties (prices from £25pppn)
  • Camping/overnighting options here and along the river
